Thessaloniki Airport is located approximately 8.1 miles/13 km southeast of the city, in Thermi.

The bus service runs every 30 minutes and the trip to the city center takes approximately 40-50 minutes. This is a non-stop bus service to and from the city center, which includes bus route no. X1 “KTEL – Airport” (day service) and bus route no. N1 “KTEL – Airport” (night service).
- Trains: There is no direct train connection from Thessaloniki Airport to the city center of Thessaloniki. However, once passengers get to Thessaloniki by bus, taxi, or car there are excellent railway connections from the Central Railway Station to take you to your further destination.
- Taxis: Taxis are available at Thessaloniki Airport 24 hours a day, every day of the week. The taxis at the airport are all metered taxi services and are available outside the passenger terminal building. A taxi trip from Thessaloniki Airport to the city center takes approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic. The cost of the journey is normally between 20-30 Euro.

Thessaloniki Airport “Makedonia” is made fairly easy to reach by car. The airport is located at Mikra, 10 miles/16.5 km southeast of central Thessaloniki. From here travelers can get to the airport from the A25 Motorway (Thessaloniki - N. Moudania National Road). The drive to and from the city center and SKG Airport takes approximately 25-30 minutes.

Drop-off and pick-up of passengers at Thessaloniki Airport

Thessaloniki Airport - Special Need Services
Thessaloniki Airport provides assistance for disabled travelers and Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM). All travelers who will require assistance at the airport should make a request in advance. This should be done by contacting either the airline or the travel agency at least 48 hours before the official departure time of the flight. If needed, you will be able to find assigned staff to help provide assistance to passengers with disabilities every day of the year, at SKG Airport.
